Certified raw material

The official controlling (conformity testing) of articles made entirely of certified raw material is less costly than the controlling of articles of unknown origin. The Ordinance on the Collection of Fees and Supervisory Levies for Precious Metals Control (PMC-FeeO; SR 941.319) takes this fact into account by granting a reduced fee for conformity assessments for goods made of certified material. The traditional official controlling and hallmarking of precious metal goods without using certified material is also possible. If the material certification seems too costly for a manufacturer or a supplier company, the traditional procedure can of course be chosen. The fee for the conformity testing is based on Art. 6 and Annex no.1 of the PMC-FeeO.
