Animals purchased abroad and imported into Switzerland are duty free but are subject to 7.6% VAT on the value of the goods. You can help speed up customs clearance by showing a receipt for the goods.
Any unnecessary suffering and stress to livestock must be avoided during transport by road, rail or air. The provisions of the Animal Welfare Law and the IATA provisions must be strictly observed.
